Bichon Frise According to the AKC breed standard, the "Bichon Frise is a small, sturdy, white powder puff of a dog whose merry temperament is evidenced by his plumed tail carried jauntily over the back and his dark-eyed inquisitive expression." The name is derived from the French "curly little lap dog," and this dog is definitely that. He is most at home in your living room in someone's lap. His coat should be maintained long enough to maintain the powder puff look which is characteristic of the breed. Most of these precious babies are white. They are cheerful and adaptable, and since the Bichon has no dander, he is considered the perfect pet for children and adults with allergies. Our experience with Bichons began with Billy Budd, a real lover of a dog, named, of course for Melville's character who was a gentle young man with many Christ-like characteristics. Then followed our 2 females, Cecile and Nanette. Cecile blessed us with 5 babies a few weeks ago, and she is a wonderful caring mom. Watch for pictures of these babies soon. |
